Compensation Base pay: $180,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr Additional compensation: Annual Bonus

About the Role Elevate Recruiting has partnered with a fast‑growing consumer goods manufacturing company on a retained search for a key leadership role. This position reports directly to the CFO. We are targeting an accelerated timeline and aim to extend an offer by year‑end.

Company Overview: Our client is a fast‑growing contract manufacturing company. Backed by a private equity, the company is scaling operations and seeking a leader in accounting and finance to strengthen its accounting infrastructure and support growth initiatives.

Position Summary: The Director of Accounting will lead the accounting function, overseeing a team ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting. This role is responsible for transactional accounting (AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, GL), month‑end close, preparation of financial statements, and ongoing process improvements. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience in manufacturing environments with inventory, proven leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, PE‑backed company.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team across AP, AR, payroll, and general accounting functions, cost accounting, and finance.

Oversee the month‑end close process, driving a consistent MEC timeline.

Ensure accuracy and timeliness of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.

Manage fixed assets, expense reporting, and cost accounting for inventory.

Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and the private equity sponsor on reporting and compliance matters.

Own the internal audit process.

Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with GAAP.

Drive process improvements and implement best practices across the accounting function.

Provide financial insights and reporting to support executive decision‑making.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership to align financial processes with business objectives.

Qualifications

CPA required or strongly preferred.

Bachelor Degree in Accounting.

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.

Experience in manufacturing companies with inventory.

Inventory/cost accounting exposure (oversees cost accounting).

Strong background in transactional accounting (AP, AR, payroll, GL, MEC, FS, reporting).

Audit background would be helpful.

Strong analytical skills – deep dive into Excel spreadsheets.

Prior experience in a private equity‑owned environment highly desirable.

Proven leadership and people management skills.
