Job Title:
VOIP & Network Engineer (3CX, Meraki, Fortinet, UniFi)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a well‑rounded VOIP & Network Engineer with a strong background in 3CX phone systems and a solid understanding of modern network infrastructure. This role will implement, maintain, and support voice and network systems including 3CX, Cisco Meraki, Fortinet firewalls, and Ubiquiti UniFi switches and access points. The candidate ensures seamless voice communication, secure network operations, and reliable connectivity across multiple sites. This is a 3 day+ in‑office position and can change based on company/department policy.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain 3CX VOIP systems (cloud and on‑prem).
Configure SIP trunks, IVRs, queues, ring groups, voicemail, E911, call forwarding, and remote extensions.
Deploy and support IP phones (Yealink, Polycom) and 3CX softphone/mobile apps.
Monitor call quality, manage call logs and reports, troubleshoot SIP/RTP issues.
Ensure 3CX system security, updates, backups, and integrations (CRM, Teams, etc.).
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco Meraki MX/MS/MR devices, including VLANs, site‑to‑site VPNs, client tracking, and traffic shaping.
Deploy and manage Ubiquiti UniFi switches and wireless access points using UniFi Controller.
Administer Fortinet firewalls, including firewall rules, NAT, VPNs, intrusion prevention, and content filtering.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, wireless, and VPN connectivity.
Coordinate with ISPs, SIP trunk providers, and vendors for circuit and service issues.
Perform regular network assessments and implement improvements for scalability and security.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
3+ years of experience in network engineering or administration.
Strong knowledge of SIP, RTP, NAT, QoS, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP.
Experience with Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, and Ubiquiti UniFi environments.
Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and packet captures (Wireshark).
Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and basic Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
3CX Advanced Certification or Meraki/Fortinet/Ubiquiti certifications.
Experience with multi‑site or distributed network environments.
Experience in VOIP engineering, with hands‑on 3CX administration.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., 3CX‑hosted PBX, Azure).
Design, implement, and manage secure and scalable Azure networking solutions including virtual networks (VNets), firewalls, VPNs, and network security groups (NSGs).
Scripting or automation knowledge (PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
Soft Skills
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
