POSITION OVERVIEW

The Associate, Business Development will play a critical role in driving CPF’s deal origination and add‑on acquisition efforts across the healthcare services landscape. This individual will focus on proactively sourcing new investment opportunities, building relationships with founders, operators, and intermediaries, and generating a robust pipeline of high‑quality opportunities for CPF’s investment team.

This is a high‑activity, outbound‑focused role requiring comfort with heavy dialing, persistent follow‑up, and relationship development. The ideal candidate is energized by proactive outreach, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and wants to build a career in private equity through the front end of the deal lifecycle. While the role partners closely with CPF’s investment professionals, it is intentionally focused on deal sourcing rather than underwriting or execution leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Deal Sourcing & Origination

Proactively source new platform and add‑on acquisition opportunities aligned with CPF’s healthcare services investment strategies.

Conduct high‑volume outbound outreach to founders, executives, operators, and intermediaries via calls, emails, and targeted campaigns.

Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with management teams, independent operators, bankers, brokers, and industry executives.

Clearly and credibly represent CPF’s investment approach to prospective partners.

Add‑On Acquisition Support

Support add‑on sourcing efforts for CPF portfolio companies in partnership with investment teams and management.Identify acquisition targets that enhance scale, geographic density, or service capabilities.

Coordinate handoffs of qualified opportunities to the investment team for diligence and execution.

Track sourcing activity, outreach metrics, and deal pipeline using CRM and internal tools.

Maintain strong follow‑up discipline to ensure no opportunities fall through the cracks.

Monitor healthcare services subsectors, competitive activity, and emerging trends to inform sourcing strategy.

Firm & Market Presence

Represent CPF at conferences, industry events, and networking meetings as appropriate.

Build CPF’s reputation in the market as a thoughtful, long‑term partner to founders and operators.

QUALIFICATIONS

3–6+ years of experience in business development, deal sourcing, investment banking (coverage‑focused), consulting, corporate development, or a related commercial role.

Demonstrated success in outbound business development, cold calling, or relationship‑driven sourcing.

Strong interest in healthcare services, value‑based care, or multi‑site healthcare platforms.

Comfortable with significant dialing and proactive outreach as a core part of the role.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Self‑motivated, persistent, and resilient with a strong work ethic.

Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow within a private equity environment.

Based in (or willing to relocate to) San Francisco.
