Chief Financial Officer – Overview

Responsibilities
Carry out all policies and procedures established by the Governing Board in accordance with the philosophy and practices of the hospital.
Present periodic financial reports to the Governing Board or its authorized committees.
Plan, organize, and influence department activities and ensure financial records are maintained following generally accepted accounting standards.
Prepare an annual operating capital expenditure and cash‑flow budget and submit it for approval.
Supervise financial affairs to ensure funds are collected and expended on best advantage and within the provision of the annual budgets.
Set realistic goals and meet those goals through criteria that measure effective outcomes, focus and drive.
Demonstrate flexibility, being willing to change schedules and assignments to meet changing demands/priorities.
Employ analytical abilities, pragmatism, and other tools to resolve complex problems in a variety of contexts.
Identify problems and possible solutions; contribute to organizational performance improvement.
Maintain a balance between process orientation and big‑picture thinking.
Align with and share in the organization’s commitment to mission, philosophy and goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field.
Extensive knowledge of Health Care Accounting practices and principles.
Progressively responsible position in the Accounting profession.
Five to seven years of hospital accounting/finance experience required; two years in management preferred.
Management of hospital financial issues related to budgeting, cash management, capital finance, and performance evaluations.
Proficiency with end‑to‑end hospital revenue cycle operations.
In‑depth knowledge of insurance matters, regulations, reimbursement, information systems and plant operations.
Familiarity with computer accounting programs.
CPA preferred.
Membership and active participation in ACHE and/or other professional organizations preferred.
Pay Transparency Prime Healthcare Management Inc. offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that allows employees to tailor benefits to their needs. The Total Rewards package includes paid time off, a 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many voluntary benefit options. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $250,000.00 to $280,000.00 on an annualized basis; the exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of selection.
