In This Position Drive our California MGA distribution strategy end-to-end, from prospecting and onboarding partners to selling policies and expanding product adoption. You will apply your insurance expertise and entrepreneurial mindset to accelerate profitable growth, optimize policy operations, and represent bolt as a trusted partner to carriers, agencies, and brokers.

Responsibilities Business Development & Distribution Leadership
Develop and own the VTRO distribution and go-to-market strategy for California homeowners, across agencies, brokers, and digital/embedded partners.
Build and manage a high-quality pipeline of producers and partners, prioritizing target markets, agency clusters, and growth segments.
Lead the end-to-end partner sales motion: prospecting, pitching, structuring agreements, contracting, onboarding, and ongoing expansion.
Set and manage growth, profitability, and retention goals in collaboration with senior leadership; regularly review performance and adjust strategy based on data-driven insights.
Partner with Marketing, Product, and Agency teams to design producer enablement, campaigns, and incentive programs that drive quote, bind, and retention activity.
Represent VTRO and bolt with carriers, agencies, and at industry events, serving as an executive-level point of contact and advocate for our distribution partners.
MGA Operations and Policy Administration
Lead daily project execution and oversee operational functions to support MGA underwriting, carrier relationships, and program delivery.
Oversee the full policy lifecycle: submission, bind, issuance, endorsement, and renewal.
Manage and optimize core Policy Administration Systems (PAS) for scalability and integration.
Lead continuous improvement of workflows and documentation to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Ensure data integrity for reporting, regulatory compliance, and actuarial analysis.
Align operational capacity, processes, and service levels to support VTRO’s distribution and growth strategy.
Risk Underwriting & Portfolio Management Support
Oversee the VTRO underwriting team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and underwriting best practices.
Manage and update underwriting eligibility requirements.
Implement real-time portfolio monitoring processes, including exposure aggregation and risk accumulation.
Design and maintain dashboards to track underwriting performance, hit ratios, premium flow, and portfolio health.
Agency & Risk Selection Operational Oversight
Oversee product integration with bolt Agency.
Develop and manage onboarding, due diligence, and maintenance processes for agency partners.
Implement controls to monitor agency performance (e.g., volume, loss ratio, policy quality).
Ensure compliance with agency licensing, contractual obligations, and data exchange protocols.
Integration of Third-Party Data & Underwriting Tools
Identify and manage integration of third-party data sources (e.g., geospatial, demographic, predictive analytics).
Oversee vendor relationships and service level agreements (SLAs).
Collaborate with IT to ensure secure, seamless data flow across platforms.
Serve as the operational point of contact between the MGA, carrier, and third-party claims administrators (TPAs).
Establish protocols for timely claims reporting, data transfer, and reserving compliance.
Analyze claims workflows and performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
Product Development & Management Support
Partner with Product and Underwriting teams to translate program requirements into system specifications.
Lead operational execution of new product launches, including configuration and testing of PAS, rating engines, forms, and reports.
Manage product lifecycle within core systems, including rate/rule filings and form updates.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills with a track record of driving operational excellence.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to support integrated business initiatives.
Expertise in managing and optimizing PAS and related technologies.
Strong understanding of the insurance value chain: underwriting, policy admin, claims, finance, and product development.
Demonstrated success in managing complex technology integrations, including third-party data and APIs.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years of progressive operational management experience in Property & Casualty Insurance.
Minimum 3-5 years in an MGA, Carrier, or Program Administrator environment.
