Rate Range:
$68/hour to $73/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Position Summary We are seeking a Desktop Platform Engineer to design, build, and implement the next‑generation desktop platform for our Financial Center environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Windows operating systems, application packaging, virtualization, imaging technologies, and telemetry tools. This role requires hands‑on engineering experience and the ability to work in a distributed branch office environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement desktop platform solutions across Financial Center locations.
Build, configure, and maintain Windows OS images using Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM).
Develop and maintain application packages using Flexera AdminStudio and App‑V.
Support and optimize virtual desktop environments (VMware VDI, UE‑V, App‑V).
Write automation scripts using PowerShell, VBScript, or Perl.
Use telemetry and monitoring tools (Splunk, Aternity) to analyze performance and troubleshoot issues.
Collaborate with LOB partners to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
Provide engineering support for distributed branch office systems and ensure platform stability.
Troubleshoot complex desktop, imaging, packaging, and virtualization issues.
Required Qualifications
Extensive hands‑on experience with Windows 7 and Windows 10 environments.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM) for imaging and deployment.
Experience with application packaging tools: Flexera AdminStudio, Microsoft App‑V.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies: App‑V, UE‑V, VMware Hosted Virtual Desktop.
Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, VBScript, and/or Perl.
Experience with telemetry tools such as Splunk and Aternity.
Understanding of networking fundamentals in a distributed/branch office environment.
