Role Summary This role supports Project Quality requirements for the nominated site and reports into the Supplier Quality Development function, working with suppliers throughout the USA, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and occasionally India.
The primary objectives of Supplier Quality Development are to drive supplier improvement (reduce Non‑conformances/Concessions and improve on‑time delivery) and to lead internal improvements that make Proserv a ‘better customer’, generating shared cost savings and efficiencies.
The primary objectives of Project Quality requirements are identified and complied with during the manufacturing phase, ensuring timely coordination with clients or third parties, and the timely submission of project deliverables per SDRL.
Supplier Quality Responsibilities
Perform assessments of new suppliers to ensure they meet quality requirements to be a supplier to Proserv.
Continuous evaluation and assessment of supplier quality risk and opportunity in line with changes to supplier scopes and usage levels.
Maintenance of records that relate to supplier quality risk and opportunities.
Develop and manage supplier quality initiatives, including vendor expectations, inspection standards and capability studies for incoming materials to ensure goods received at Proserv site are ‘right first time’.
Collate and evaluate supplier quality data to identify supplier process improvement opportunities.
Work with the supplier directly, create and monitor the execution of containment and corrective action plans to address process failures.
Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues until the supplier can carry this out unsupported.
Train suppliers to carry out effective root cause analysis and prevent recurring issues at supplier site without Proserv facilitation.
Perform on‑site supplier audits for verification of correction actions from RCA.
Work with Proserv Engineers, Project Management and Supplier to agree on appropriate documentation (e.g., Material Certification, Inspection Points, Manufacturing Plan/Quality Plan (MP/QP), Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)) prior to commencement of work.
Support supplier development – capability, adequate Quality controls, Quality Assurance mentality, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEAs), Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Value Engineering to drive out cost.
Takes ownership of and leads investigations into reasons for negative trends in Supplier Quality and Delivery.
Supplier HSE spot‑audits.
Monitor and reduce supplier concessions through working with supplier and Proserv Engineers.
Identify and manage supplier improvement initiatives.
Work with Product and Design Engineers to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
Work with Project Engineers to improve understanding of supplier product compatibility and application to balance client specification with cost‑effective/quality products.
Promote the use of techniques for continuous improvement such as Poka‑Yoke, Measurement System Analysis, Statistical Process Control, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Lean.
Assist the development of Supplier score‑card reports for sharing with suppliers and Proserv Senior Management, measuring comprehensive performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, ESG and Continuous Improvement.
Support Quarterly Business Reviews with critical suppliers and work collaboratively to develop performance reports utilizing Score Card Reports, RCAs, Corrective Actions, etc.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Project Quality Responsibilities
Submission of quality‑related documents as per project requirements and incorporate client comments.
Lead coordination of surveillance activities with TPI, clients and suppliers to ensure project surveillance requirements are met.
Contribute to the Global Business Management System by creating procedures to address process gaps in the system.
Lead RCA investigations and document formal responses for customer and management presentation.
Act as point of contact for project quality issues and manage until resolved.
Own project NCR coordination throughout the NCR life cycle and ensure timely resolution of non‑conformances.
Own, maintain, and compile strategic data metrics to develop reports conveying quality performance.
Contribute to and participate in management reviews as necessary.
Schedule and execute internal audits in support of ISO and internal requirements.
Integrate continuous improvement ideas as part of the process and drive teams toward standardisation of work processes.
Help support tendering quality inquiries as required.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications / Skills & Experience Education
Bachelor’s Degree, or
Combination of equivalent qualifications > 5 years’ experience
Lead Auditor qualified
ASNT Level II – RT, PT and MT a plus
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
CQE
Essential
SQD experience in Automotive, Aerospace or Energy is preferred
Low‑volume, low repeatability, Engineer‑to‑order environment is preferred
Extensive experience of supplier quality development demonstrated through results
Experience dealing with customers and suppliers
Membership of appropriate professional body
Delivery of internal/supplier training in Root Cause Analysis
Practitioner of Lean Six Sigma concepts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
Understanding manufacturing processes; fabrication and machining knowledge
