Emergency Preparedness Director (Remote)

Health Quality Innovators (HQI) is seeking an emergency preparedness professional to deliver improvement consultation and coaching services to nursing homes, hospitals or outpatient clinical practices.
As an Emergency Preparedness Director, you will be part of a national program that sets the pace for performance excellence. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing plans and procedures for responding to natural disasters and other emergencies. As part of this, you will help providers strengthen their emergency preparedness plans, providing input for their improvement. You will develop and conduct an annual Regional Emergency Exercise for healthcare providers. This may be separate exercises by care setting, for nursing homes, hospitals, and for outpatient clinical practices. You will also help providers with survey citations for emergency preparedness as part of a rapid response quality improvement team. You are the subject matter expert in emergency preparedness for the quality improvement team.

Although this position works from a home office, HQI is especially interested in candidates who reside in the Southeast, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky or Tennessee.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in emergency management, criminal justice, business, public safety, public administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 8 – 10+ years of experience in safety, emergency management and/or related field in a healthcare setting. Formal training and knowledge on the ability to manage emergency operations. Incident Management Team (IMT) Certifications preferred. Completion of the FEMA ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700 and ICS-800 courses meet certification qualifications. Knowledge of federal and State emergency management frameworks (NIMS, ICS). Ability to manage internal, external, commercial, and federal partner relationships effectively to coordinate and execute disaster training exercises Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are required to work successfully with a diverse group of team members at all levels within the organization and external partners. Must be able to function effectively as a member of a remote team, manage multiple priorities, and be comfortable using good judgment to keep work moving in the absence of complete information.
