Position Overview The Pricing Director will report to the VP of Pricing and will focus on Pricing Operations, Commercialization, Governance, and Project Management. The role leads the development of comprehensive pricing models and drives initiatives by partnering with the business and analyzing market conditions. As a member of the Pricing team, you will work across functions to define pricing strategy and process, analyze discounting behaviors, and design various pricing programs. A successful pricing leader thinks strategically, thrives in detailed fast‑paced execution, and turns business and data insights into strategy and tactics to achieve price execution. Sharp analytical skills and independent project leadership are essential, as is an interest in innovative ways for customers to buy and a desire to grow the business while enjoying the work.
Key Responsibilities
Enhance and act as the pricing expert in end‑to‑end lead‑to‑cash processes on all pricing matters.
Project manage large pricing initiatives, including project plans, milestones, and deliverables.
Run Pricing Committee and implement governance models.
Create and improve pricing strategy and processes across multiple lines of business to drive profitable growth.
Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to understand market segmentation, needs, value drivers, and willingness to pay—incorporating insights into decision criteria.
Use best practices, design, and lead strategic and tactical pricing initiatives to drive continuous improvement and identify future opportunities, evaluating marketplace and competitive data to align strategies.
Develop analytical models to optimize pricing, discounting, and renewal, collaborating across business lines to manage balance‑sheet risk and other risk factors.
Lead initiatives to enhance pricing realization and reduce discounting to improve profitability.
Present to senior leadership and coordinate cross‑functional change management to realize lasting pricing benefits.
Implement and enhance pricing governance; plan, develop, and execute pricing initiatives and campaigns.
Develop and centralize KPIs and reports to measure the effectiveness and outcomes of pricing actions.
Education Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Finance, or equivalent experience (Required).
Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Preferred).
Experience Qualifications
Typically 8+ years of pricing strategy experience in SaaS companies (Required).
Skills And Abilities
Self‑starter capable of navigating complex situations with minimal guidance.
Strong organization and project‑management skills to meet demanding deadlines.
Familiar with commercial technology systems and processes.
Critical thinking and understanding of strategy, marketing, and go‑to‑market principles.
Attention to detail and willingness to roll up sleeves.
Mastery of strategic pricing principles—packaging, price architecture, and price differentiation.
Experience with a full spectrum of pricing models, including subscription and usage‑based models.
Familiarity with key analytical pricing techniques (bundling, price waterfall, qualitative interviews, quantitative research, conjoint, etc.).
Experience with setting list, target prices, and discounting processes.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to articulate insights and recommend actions.
Experience with data analytics and building data models, as well as working with large transactional databases across multiple platforms.
High proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with pricing software is a plus.
Base compensation for this role is: $187,500.00 - $237,150.00 annual salary. In addition to the base pay, this position includes variable compensation and may be eligible for long‑term incentive. The final package may vary depending on candidate profile, qualifications, and cost‑of‑living factors.
