Warfare Systems (WS) , a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems. HII works within our nation’s intelligence and cyber operations communities to defend our interests in cyberspace and anticipate emerging threats. Job Description Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking highly experienced and motivated Software Engineers to join our team. The role operates in a hybrid work environment in our Hanover, MD location and supports critical national security missions. The software development team is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Minotaur Mission Processor, an integrated mission management software suite. The software engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting various elements of the software to protect national security.
Responsibilities
Research and concept development for solutions to unaddressed, critical military operational shortfalls.
System design and software implementation of proof‑of‑concept prototypes incorporating multiple engineering disciplines.
Support prototype evaluation, experimental operations at military facilities, and transitions of capabilities to government.
Support system integration events on various aircraft during ground and/or flight tests.
Develop software interfaces to control and collect data from sensors.
Potentially fly on aircraft to support system integration and train operators.
Design and implement graphical user interfaces to meet customers’ demands and needs.
Willing to travel between 10-20% of the time.
Qualifications
Senior Software Engineer (Software Engineer 3): 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors; 3 years with Masters; or 0 years with PhD/Jurisdiction; or High School Diploma and 9 years relevant experience.
Software Engineer (Software Engineer 2): 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors; or High School Diploma and 6 years relevant experience.
Software Engineer, Associate (Software Engineer 1): 0 years relevant experience with Bachelors; or High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience.
Technical Skills: Experience developing software with C++, Java, JavaScript or related languages; demonstrated experience working within a Linux environment; ability to obtain and maintain a US level Secret clearance.
Preferred Requirement: An active US level Secret clearance or higher.
