This role offers the opportunity to lead a statewide virtual K–12 school during a period of strategic growth and transformation. The CEO will shape academic vision, strengthen organizational culture, and drive operational excellence while serving a diverse student population. Acting as the public face of the school, you will engage with families, partners, and policymakers across the state. This position requires a strategic, empathetic, and data-informed leader who can inspire staff, foster equity, and advance student outcomes. The role combines high-level decision-making with hands-on leadership in a remote-first environment, influencing both academic and operational success.
Accountabilities
Provide strategic and academic leadership, implementing student-centered approaches that enhance learning outcomes and engagement.
Lead culture-building initiatives to strengthen communication, trust, and morale among a remote workforce.
Serve as the primary representative to families, community partners, and state officials, fostering positive relationships and advocacy.
Oversee financial and operational management, including a multi-million-dollar budget, compliance, and risk mitigation.
Develop and mentor leadership teams, promote fair HR practices, and cultivate a high-performing, collaborative organizational culture.
Maintain transparent and proactive communication with the Board of Trustees, supporting governance and strategic planning processes.
Requirements
Senior leadership experience in education, public sector, or mission-driven organizations.
Proven ability to lead through change and stabilize organizational culture.
Strong financial management skills and data-informed decision-making capabilities.
Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, access, and inclusive educational practices.
Preferred: experience in virtual or cyber-based education, K–12 educational leadership certification, or background as an educator/administrator.
Experience supervising remote teams and working with diverse populations is advantageous.
