KIPP Public Schools Northern California . This full‑time, exempt position on a school‑year calendar cycle supports students with mild to moderate support needs. Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Lead and manage the development, implementation, and monitoring of student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal and state laws. Collaborate with families, general education teachers, and related service providers to develop measurable goals and support plans in academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional areas. Deliver specialized academic instruction and intervention through models such as co‑teaching, push‑in, pull‑out, small‑group, and one‑to‑one support. Collect and analyze data regularly to track student progress toward IEP goals, inform instruction, and communicate growth to families. Develop and adapt daily and long‑term lesson plans aligned with both IEP goals and KIPP’s academic vision. Partner with general education teachers to modify materials and differentiate instruction to meet students’ diverse learning needs. Support the training and development of paraeducators and other staff to ensure consistent, high‑quality instructional support. Foster a positive, inclusive, and rigorous learning environment that incorporates Restorative Practices, Social Emotional Learning, and culturally responsive approaches. Communicate proactively and effectively with students, families, and colleagues to ensure alignment and partnership in supporting student success. Maintain accurate, organized student records, including IEP documents, progress reports, and evaluations. Engage fully in ongoing professional development and Communities of Practice to continually refine instructional and equity‑centered practices. Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching or supporting students with disabilities and/or students from backgrounds similar to KIPP Northern California community. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (required). Hold a valid teaching credential in the subject of your desired role, or be eligible for a General Education Limited Assignment Permit, Provisional Internship Permit, or Short Term Staff Permit (CPR certification by American Heart Association or American Red Cross is a prerequisite for this permit). Strong content knowledge and instructional skills. Ability to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, etc.) and openness to learning new educational technologies (e.g., Zoom, Nearpod). Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands
Physical: Ability to navigate school and classroom settings, access and utilize technology, and occasionally lift or carry equipment 1‑20 lbs. Mental: Stress of deadlines and normal work standards; ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives. Environmental: Constant interruptions and distractions typical of a school and classroom environment. Classification
