Coffeebar and Dopo Pizza + Pasta are two sides of the same coin — one fueled by espresso, the other by red sauce. Both are rooted in the belief that hospitality isn’t a transaction, it’s a way of life. From our first café in Truckee to our growing family of coffee bars and restaurants across California and Nevada, we’re building spaces that bring people together through craft, generosity, and soul.
Now entering our next chapter — $16M in annual revenue and growing to $19M+ in 2026 — we’re looking for a Director of Finance to help guide our evolution. Someone who can balance spreadsheets and stories, who understands that cash is king, but that culture is the crown.
The Role The Director of Finance is the steward of our financial ecosystem — the connective force between art and arithmetic. You’ll work hand-in-hand with our CEO, Controller, and Operations team to design and lead the financial strategy for both Coffeebar and Dopo.
This isn’t a back-office role. It’s a seat at the table — literally and figuratively — shaping how we grow, how we invest, and how we build a business that’s sustainable, soulful, and smart.
WHAT YOU’LL DO Financial Strategy & Leadership
Lead all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis across Coffeebar and Dopo.
Own and refine our financial models — translating them into actionable strategies for leadership.
Manage and mentor the finance team (Controller + Analyst), fostering clarity, accountability, and sprezzatura.
Develop cash flow projections and working capital strategies — ensuring we’re never surprised by the bank balance.
Partner with Operations to monitor store-level performance and drive profitability without sacrificing soul.
Support the CEO in investor relations, debt/equity financing, and capital planning for new locations.
Operational & Cross-Functional Excellence
Build strong relationships with GMs, chefs, and store leaders to help connect the dots between numbers and behavior.
Be ready to roll up your sleeves and get in the trenches when needed — understanding that great financial leadership happens as much on the savory line as it does behind a laptop.
You should be as comfortable with a gram scale as you are with a balance sheet — because precision in measurement, whether it’s flour or finance, is how we protect margins and craft excellence.
Oversee cost controls, ensuring our “farmer-to-guest” values are upheld while protecting margins.
Lead analysis on menu pricing, product mix, and vendor management.
Integrate data from POS, accounting, payroll, and scheduling systems to deliver intuitive dashboards and insights.
Be the voice of financial discipline — balancing the books while keeping the brand human.
Growth & Expansion
Evaluate new market opportunities, modeling ROI, build-out costs, and ramp periods.
Support lease negotiations, investment decks, and long-term planning with the CEO.
Guide financial systems integration as we scale — ensuring we grow efficiently, not just quickly.
WHO YOU ARE
7–12 years of progressive finance experience, ideally in multi‑unit hospitality, restaurant groups, or retail.
Equally comfortable in Excel and a dining room — you see the story behind the numbers.
Entrepreneurial mindset: proactive, resourceful, and comfortable in a high‑growth, high‑humanity environment.
Strong communicator and collaborator — you can explain EBITDA to a GM and COGS to a dishwasher without losing anyone along the way.
Strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach. You’ll build the models and lead the meetings.
Passionate about aligning purpose with performance — because for us, the two aren’t mutually exclusive.
Compensation
Salary range: $90,000–$120,000 DOE
Bonus‑eligible position tied to company performance (EBITDA / growth goals)
Benefits: Comprehensive health benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision), Paid Vacation, dining & coffee perks, and potential equity/profit participation for long‑term alignment.
The Vibe At Coffeebar and Dopo, numbers aren’t cold — they tell the story of how we care for our people, our guests, and our communities. If you’re ready to blend operational rigor with heart, and help build the next chapter of two growing hospitality brands, we’d love to hear from you.
