Manage a team that designs, develops AI solutions for OCI Networking. As a director of the software engineering team, you will be the owner for building AI applications powered by AI models. You will apply your knowledge of AI models, networking, data center infrastructure and network monitoring to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing AI-based applications to automate, optimize and secure networks. Interact with other service teams to come up with product roadmaps. Assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 10+ years of software engineering or related experience.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership, direction, and strategy.
Establish and develop the organization to meet and execute on strategy.
Work with geographically distributed teams and contribute to the success of related teams.
Recruit and continue to build out a capable and cohesive engineering team.
Deliver large-scale projects on-time with high quality.
Qualifications
10+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
7+ years experience in people management. Preferably managing managers.
Proficient in AI models and familiar with how to train models.
Demonstrable success mentoring and growing junior engineers to senior levels.
Demonstrable leadership and people management skills.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.>
BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
Compensation US: Hiring Range in USD from: $122,500 to $291,800 per annum. Eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
