The PM Lead Security Specialist’s primary duties are to escort, represent the company, and consult with Bureau Security Office (BSO). They will hold full authority to represent the company in matters such as procedures, schedules, employee assignments, performance assessment, reports, and administration. The role also includes planning, developing, implementing, and managing physical, information, and personnel security programs for the Department (SES-EX/BSO). Primary Responsibilities
In addition to normal Security Specialist III duties, have full authority to represent the company in such matters as procedures, schedules, scheduling changes, employee assignments, performance assessment, reports and administration. In consultation with the BSO, plan, develop, implement, and manage a variety of physical, information and personnel security programs for the Department. Manage collateral and Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) security policy. Evaluate and coordinate security access for the Department. Participate in implementing training program regarding clearance and access control. Interact with other agencies. Provide clearance and access expertise as well as technical direction to Security Specialists and State Department personnel assigned. Other duties as assigned. Responsible for supervising all the Security Specialists assigned to SES-EX BSO. Supervisory Responsibilities
N/A Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and specialized experience in counterintelligence, investigations, industrial security, dignitary/VIP protection, policy and security standard development, OPSEC, COMSEC, INFOSEC, or related fields. 4–6 years of specialized experience. 8–10 years of specialized experience in lieu of a degree. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong working knowledge of Federal government security policies and procedures such as NISPOM, IC directives, and other national and international security requirements. Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) policies and procedures. Knowledge of IC databases of individuals eligible for SCI access. Proficient with Microsoft Suite products including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Ability to multi‑task efficiently, work in a fast‑paced environment on multiple projects, and maintain strong attention to detail. Construction Surveillance Technician / Cleared American Guard Training (CST). Must be able to stand for long periods. Positive and responsive attitude. Team oriented in a high‑profile high‑stress work environment. Excellent communication skills. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
N/A Security Clearance
Must have a current US Government TOP SECRET Personnel Security Clearance and be eligible for SCI access. Must have a current US Government Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (less than 4½ years old) or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government‑administered SSBI. Physical Demands
