for a premier project with one of the world's top AI labs.
In this role, you will contribute your subject matter expertise to a cutting‑edge project involving frontier large language models. You will craft high‑quality, challenging problems in your domain with real‑world applicability to inform the future of AI innovation.
Ideal Qualifications
Masters or PhD in Physics from a top U.S. university.
Experience coding in Python and MATLAB for projects or research.
Field‑specific experience in Condensed Matter Physics, Optics, Quantum Information/Computing, Computational Physics, Astrophysics, or Particle Physics.
High attention to detail.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent proficiency in English.
Based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, U.K., or Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Work asynchronously with a team of highly qualified experts across your domain.
Craft, solve, and review challenging problems with real‑world applicability.
Commit 15–20 hours per week, with potential for increased hours and extension.
Work fully remote and asynchronous.
Role Start Date
Role begins in late December; applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
Interview Process
Complete a short interview to assess domain expertise.
Paid for up to 1 hour of onboarding time including screening and onboarding videos if hired.
Compensation And Legal Details
Legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor.
Paid out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect.
