Senior Traffic Design Project Engineer
Base pay range: $140,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Lead design for multiple concurrent traffic engineering projects and tasks.
Assist project managers with consultative services, understanding client requirements, recommendations, and solutions to enhance client experience.
Attend client meetings or conduct interviews in support of project managers.
Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work for major or moderate scope projects.
Design projects using advanced discipline knowledge, client specifications and guidelines with design software and drawing tools.
Develop solutions to complex problems and share best practices/lessons learned on a wide scale.
Define parameters, review, and present alternative studies based on experience and advanced engineering knowledge.
Prepare or lead preparation of engineering documents, technical reports, memos, etc.
Evaluate and collaborate on discipline’s workflow and standard operating procedures to increase efficiency.
Perform and check design computations.
Quality-review project design in accordance with the Project Management Plan.
Provide cross-disciplinary and constructability reviews on complex projects.
Provide input to project managers and section heads with scope development, work hours for tasks, and project schedule creation for discipline.
Manage and lead work to meet provided project schedule and budget relevant to discipline.
Coordinate and collaborate with team members and other disciplines to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality.
Delegate project work to design engineers, coordinate project requirements, and perform quality reviews.
Mentor and coach on technical knowledge to advance skill development and advise on project design.
Actively participate and contribute (presenting, publishing papers, etc.) in industry organizations, publications, and/or conversations.

Required Skills
Proficient in discipline specific software.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong written and communication skills.
Familiarity with a variety of engineering disciplines.
Presentation skills.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program.
15+ years of experience.
Preferred Experience
Professional Engineer License.
Specific discipline certifications (PTOE or IMSA, etc.).
Experience working with local clients at the county and state level.
Working Conditions
Work performed within a general office environment 95% of the time; generally sedentary but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature adequate and no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
Field work required on occasions where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required as needed.
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program.
15+ years of experience.
Proficient in discipline specific software.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Familiarity of a variety of engineering disciplines.
