About The Team The Creative Team at Uber is charged with boldly connecting our business with our users. Creative excellence is the measure of our success. No matter how large or small the project, we apply our craft with diligence and heart. Across every campaign. Every illustration. Every playbook. Every email. We know that Technology isn't what defines Uber. It is humanity that fuels our platform, allowing us to transcend the cold, impersonal and generic to weave compelling narratives for all our users. Leveraging embedded brand expertise, defined processes, and scalable tools and solutions, we dynamically turn around ideas and deliver with efficiency and speed. We are a global team with a headquarters in San Francisco, CA and teams in NY and Amsterdam.
About The Role We're looking for a conceptual, craft-obsessed storyteller who can turn strategy into compelling ideas and words. You'll partner with art directors, designers, marketing teams and other cross‑functional partners to concept and execute full‑funnel campaigns – from big brand platforms to CRM, events, and digital work. You bring equal passion to every detail, knowing a subject line deserves the same care as a headline or script.
You're a curious, versatile creative who thrives on collaboration, iteration, and finding smart solutions. You can pivot quickly, adapt to feedback, and push every brief toward something sharper and more inspiring. A true Swiss Army knife, you're eager to learn new tools (including AI), stretch across mediums, and help elevate the work and those around you. Confident presenting and problem‑solving, you know how to sell an idea and make it even stronger in the process.
What You'll Do
Develop campaign platforms, messaging frameworks, and compelling copy across multiple channels (CRM, digital, social, video, OOH, experiential).
Write scripts, taglines, headlines, and long‑form copy that bring Uber's voice to life and connect with diverse global audiences.
Partner with art directors and designers to concept and execute integrated, insight‑driven campaigns.
Translate strategic objectives into clear, creative ideas that ladder up to business goals.
Ensure creative excellence through all stages of the process, from concept to production to launch.
Confidently present and sell creative work to partners and leadership, clearly articulating rationale and impact.
Collaborate with marketing, product, and cross‑functional partners to align creative with brand and business priorities.
Bring curiosity and passion to every project, exploring new tools (including AI), trends, and cultural conversations to inspire fresh thinking.
Inspire peers by modeling strong creative craft, collaboration, and accountability.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a copywriter for an advertising agency or in‑house global brand.
Proven ability to concept and write across the full funnel, from brand campaigns and CRM to social, digital, and experiential activations.
Strong digital experience, with a deep understanding of how to craft ideas and copy that perform across channels (email, in‑app, social, display, video, and web).
Fluency extending ideas above and below the line (ATL, BTL).
Ability to make complex marketing programs and products feel simple, human, and engaging.
Ability to write according to business and technical requirements and comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills, able to articulate creative rationale clearly and confidently.
Portfolio demonstrating well‑written, conceptual, and brand‑oriented work across multiple formats.
Experience writing for different audiences (B2C, B2B, and global markets).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in campaign creative and script writing.
Understanding of how to scale ideas for global deliverables.
Experience in digital marketing (Email, in‑app, SMS/PUSH, paid social and display channels) best practices.
Degree in creative writing, copywriting, communications, marketing, advertising; or equivalent.
Strategically minded.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, and pivot quickly when needed.
Familiarity with Google Docs and Slides.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$130,000 per year - USD$144,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
