Overview
Delaware North Service is hiring a full‑time Director of Retail to lead retail strategy across multiple outlets at Petco Park in San Diego, California. The role focuses on growing the business beyond its current $25 million in annual revenue through innovative merchandising, operations, and customer engagement.
What Will You Do?
Develop and execute a comprehensive retail strategy in collaboration with unit and client leadership.
Lead merchandise planning, buying, and inventory management based on sales trends and market insights.
Oversee all aspects of game‑day operations, including profit and loss management, financial performance monitoring, and reporting.
Direct in‑store merchandising and visual displays to maximize impact and drive revenue, integrating market trends into product selection.
Collaborate with retail managers to design and execute customer and employee promotions.
Create detailed business plans to introduce new product lines and source appropriate vendors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of retail management experience, including a minimum of 3 years in store operations and merchandising.
Strong leadership capabilities with a proven ability to recruit, motivate, and develop high‑performing teams.
Background in licensed sports merchandise, such as apparel and novelty items, strong background in retail marketing and brand management preferred.
Proven experience in specialty retail, ideally within a sports‑related environment, with demonstrated success managing revenues over $20 million and full P&L responsibility.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
