Director of Integrated Facilities & Manufacturing Operations
This role will be housed on the East Coast and will require roughly 40% travel
The base compensation is $215,000+ with an additional bonus

Role Overview
The Director of Integrated Facilities & Manufacturing Operations oversees the full spectrum of facilities services, engineering programs, and maintenance operations across a network of global manufacturing and supply chain sites. This includes oversight of GMP environments, laboratories, distribution facilities, and other critical infrastructure. This leader ensures that all sites operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, while meeting key operational, financial, and service-level commitments. The role requires strong partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure that facilities operations consistently support production goals, regulatory expectations, and organizational strategy. Success in this position will require driving consistency across diverse locations, establishing operational best practices, strengthening reliability programs, and ensuring that teams are equipped with the skills, processes, and tools necessary to maintain uninterrupted facility performance. Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Provide strategic direction for facilities, engineering, and maintenance functions across multiple manufacturing and supply chain locations. Establish standards, operating procedures, and technical guidelines to create uniform, high-performing operations across the portfolio. Ensure infrastructure, utilities, and critical systems operate with maximum uptime and reliability to support manufacturing output. Team Development & Performance Management
Build and mentor a multi-layer leadership structure accountable for site-based facilities teams. Oversee workforce capability planning, cross‑training programs, and long‑term succession development. Promote a culture that prioritizes safety, quality, operational discipline, and continuous improvement. Reliability, Quality & Compliance
Review trends in equipment performance and facility‑related failures to identify root causes and implement preventive strategies. Maintain full compliance with GMP/GxP regulations, safety requirements, and applicable building codes. Provide clear communication and documentation for investigations, deviations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and operational risk assessments. Stakeholder Partnership & Client Engagement
Serve as a primary point of contact for senior operations, quality, supply chain, engineering, and EHS leaders. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance service delivery, operational performance, and site experience. Build trust with client organizations by offering solutions, anticipating needs, and delivering high‑quality support. Guide the selection, monitoring, and performance management of third‑party service providers and subcontractors. Ensure vendors meet safety, compliance, and performance expectations. Partner with procurement and sourcing teams to evaluate cost, capability, and contract structure. Operational Readiness & Business Continuity
Ensure all sites maintain current and effective contingency plans, including emergency response, business continuity, and system redundancy strategies. Coordinate closely with project management teams on renovations, expansions, or infrastructure upgrades occurring within active manufacturing spaces. Required Qualifications
10+ years of leadership experience in facilities operations, engineering, maintenance, or manufacturing support within regulated environments Experience leading large, multi‑tiered teams across multiple locations. Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. Strong background in budget planning, cost management, and financial accountability. 7–10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences sectors. Ability to travel up to 60%. Preferred Qualifications
Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and facilities technology platforms. Prior involvement in capital project oversight or facility renovation within manufacturing environments. Experience guiding organizational change across matrixed, cross‑functional teams.
