New Mexico Donor Services (NMDS), part of the DCI Donor Services family, is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic professional to lead the Hospital Development function across all locations. The role involves directing, coaching, and counseling Hospital Development teams, managing relationships with hospital leadership, and leading performance improvement initiatives.
Company Overview and Mission New Mexico Donor Services is the designated organ procurement organization (OPO) for the state of New Mexico and is a member of the DCI Donor Services family. DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations—New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services—along with the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank. Our mission is to save lives through organ donation, providing nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution while maintaining strong ties to local communities. Success is measured by how we serve donor families and recipients, mobilizing people and technology to extend the reach of each donor’s gift.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the development and implementation of strategic hospital plans to facilitate growth in organ and tissue donation.
Evaluate activities against established strategic hospital plans and work with hospitals’ QAPI departments to ensure performance.
Conduct in‑person meetings with key hospital personnel to establish rapport, identify potential problems, and resolve concerns related to service provision.
Partner with location Clinical Directors and Executive Directors to investigate missed referrals.
Prepare, distribute, and analyze hospital surveys; track and analyze donor and referral patterns.
Develop and maintain Hospital Development policies and procedures; lead regulatory compliance with CMS and AOPO.
Hire, onboard, and train employees; evaluate performance through dashboards and strategic goals.
Develop staff to present findings to all levels of hospital personnel; provide coaching, counseling, and education.
Audit hospital documentation activities entered by staff in iTransplant and presentation material.
Collaborate with other DCIDS/OPO departments to improve donation processes within hospitals, Medical Examiners, and Corner Offices.
Actively participate in AOPO Hospital Development Council and act as a liaison to senior leadership.
Lead the Hospital Development Affinity Group and provide feedback and ideas to senior leadership.
Model DCIDS core values—selfless, hardworking, passionate, dependable—in all actions.
Perform other special projects and duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
RN or BA/BS in Health or Business-related field preferred.
Occupational experience cultivating relationships and creating buy‑in within a healthcare setting.
OPO experience preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Exceptional teamwork, communication, and conflict‑management skills.
Valid driver’s license with ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
