Your Key Responsibilities
Evaluate, select, specify, and review shop drawings for electrical systems and products for a project.
Engage in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
Utilize technologies in development of three-dimensional models of electrical systems.
Prepare and revise documentation in various phases of design and construction, including plans, single line diagrams, ladder control schematics, equipment layouts and details.
Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
Participate in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
Prepare and coordinate the project specifications with construction documents.
Conduct reviews required to assess field conditions.
Conduct construction phase services, respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and conduct reviews of construction for general conformance with design.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of industry standards as well as electrical and building codes.
Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications, specifically in the municipal water/wastewater industry.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, the National Electrical Code, California Title 24, means and methods, materials, and industry standards, particularly related to the water/wastewater industry.
Participates and collaborates in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Understanding of electrical engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
Very strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong presentation, interpersonal and interview skills.
Well‑versed understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoDesk products (i.e. AutoCAD) and/or Bentley products (i.e. Microstation). Familiarity with Revit is an asset.
Experience with specialized power system software such as ETAP and/or SKM PowerTools is an asset.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer.
Minimum 7 years of experience.
Location and Schedule Primary Location: United States | CA | Pasadena. Travel: Yes. Schedule: Full time. Employment type: Full‑time. Job function: Engineering and Information Technology.
Pay Range
Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA areas: $91,200.00 - $132,300.00 annually.
Pay Transparency In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
