Systems Engineer, Senior (TS/SCI Required) – Redhawk Administrative Services
Command Cyber Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and maintenance of enterprise IT systems. The Systems Engineer will possess a strong technical background in system architecture, configuration management, and performance optimization. As a System Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and reliable while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to support the development, deployment, and sustainment of complex infrastructure and application environments.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise systems including servers, storage, and virtualization platforms.
Provide end‑to‑end system engineering support throughout the lifecycle, from requirements gathering through operations and maintenance.
Integrate systems and applications across physical, virtual, and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware).
Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and apply patches and upgrades to maintain system health.
Develop and maintain documentation for system configuration, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
Ensure compliance with security policies, data protection standards, and federal regulations (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).
Support backup and recovery planning, business continuity, and disaster recovery testing.
Collaborate with network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and developers to support secure and resilient IT solutions.
Automate routine tasks and system provisioning using scripting languages or infrastructure‑as‑code tools (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).
Participate in change control, configuration management, and performance tuning activities.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
Certification Requirements
CompTIA Security+ (Required).
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, VMware VCP, or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (Preferred).
Experience Requirements
7+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or IT infrastructure roles.
Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems, virtualized environments, and enterprise storage solutions.
Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid deployments.
Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef), monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios), and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
Working knowledge of networking, identity, credential, and access management (ICAM).
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and lead root cause investigations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of enterprise system architecture, virtualization, and cloud operations.
Knowledge of systems hardening, patch management, and baseline security configurations.
Skill in system troubleshooting, performance analysis, and technical documentation.
Skill in scripting and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
Ability to translate complex requirements into functional system designs and implement them effectively.
Ability to manage multiple systems and tasks in high‑availability, fast‑paced environments.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑disciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly.
