Executive Recruiter/Girl Dad/ Mediocre Ironman Triathlete Mid-sized custom automation / special purpose machine (equipment) builder in Minneapolis area!

Strong preference for someone from custom machine build/automation build industry.

Responsibilities

Lead PMO, drive change, improvements and efficiency within PMO.

Deliver programs on time and foster a strong culture of efficiency and urgency.

Lead Project Management teams (direct reports).

Act as liaison and provide leadership, direction, and coaching on project specific tasks as well as individual professional development.

Provide strategic direction on projects.

Conduct preliminary scoping, evaluation and feasibility assessment of projects.

Select and facilitate Project Manager(s).

Create and maintain staffing plan to support the current and future work demands and project deliverables.

Manage career development, performance management, and pay determination and communication.

Allocate appropriate resources to ensure projects, enhancements and support are completed within committed time, scope and budget.

Develop Project Management support policies, standards and procedures.

Monitor reviews and evaluate ongoing functional programs and controls, facilitating process improvements, change management, and quality assessment.

Manage departmental expenses to operate within budget.

Demonstrate ability to adapt to and lead change, and coach others in the acceptance and support of change.

Strategic Leadership

Provide leadership and integrate the department’s planning effort with the Company’s overall strategic plan.

Advise Senior Management team about project status and resource planning for delivering strategic business initiatives.

Ensure alignment between long-term goals and short-term objectives.

Establish and nurture positive relationships with customer organizations.

Collaboration and Teamwork

Build cooperation and participation among individuals, teams, and across functions.

Create teams, when appropriate, to address problems and issues, inspiring teamwork to achieve optimum results.

Encourage open expression of ideas and the sharing of information to solve problems, foster innovation and achieve win‑win solutions.

Delegate, empower and hold others accountable to achieve common goals.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or related field.

Project Management Certification.

Minimum 6+ years project management experience with at least 3 years in a management level position.

Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities.

Experienced in process improvement, workflow benchmarking and/or evaluation processes.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Proven leadership, facilitation, strategic thinking, problem solving, decision making, interpersonal, negotiation and analytical thinking skills.

Broad knowledge of business functions.

Ability to influence, motivate and lead stakeholders from various departments to meet agreement.

Broad knowledge base of machine design process, automation applications and technologies.

Training or work experience in financial analysis or budgeting.

Must be able to travel, including air travel, occasionally overnight.
