About Music City Artist Development
Music City Artist Development is an award‑winning nonprofit organization with over six years of impact supporting musicians through education, mentorship, and career development. We are based in San Francisco and exist to create sustainable pathways for musicians. Our programs focus on long‑term artist development and real‑world support that helps creatives build viable, lasting careers. The only San Francisco Bay Area Music Hall of Fame is under our non‑profit, driving tourism and supporting local businesses while inspiring musicians and their fans.
The Role The ideal candidate is a non‑profit fundraising professional with:
Demonstrated success raising funds for nonprofits
An active Rolodex of philanthropic, foundation, and/or corporate contacts
Confidence engaging donors in meaningful, values‑aligned conversations
You will work closely with organizational leadership to strengthen and scale our fundraising efforts. NOTE: This role is not entry‑level and is not focused on cold outreach alone.
Key Responsibilities
Leverage existing relationships to identify, cultivate, and secure funding
Secure major gifts and foundation support
Develop and execute fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals
Advise on donor stewardship and long‑term relationship management
Collaborate with leadership on fundraising messaging and positioning
Qualifications
Proven success fundraising for nonprofit organizations
Established donor and corporate network
Strong communication, storytelling, and relationship‑building skills
Solid understanding of nonprofit fundraising best practices
Ability to work independently in a contract‑based role
Genuine alignment with artist development, creative equity, and community impact
Experience in arts, music, or cultural‑sector fundraising strongly preferred
Compensation Compensation is based on experience and fundraising outcomes.
