CDW
Senior Network Engineer (Hybrid – Primarily Remote, Occasional Onsite in Rochester, MI)
This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who can operate independently, own Tier 3 escalations, and contribute to long-term network design decisions in a large Cisco‑centric enterprise. We’re expanding our network engineering team to support major growth across nine hospital campuses and 300+ ambulatory sites.
Base Pay Range $70.00/hr - $80.00/hr
Work Model Primarily remote, with occasional onsite visits in Rochester, MI
Terms 6 months, contract to hire
Critical Requirement Deep, Demonstrated Mastery of OSPF and BGP. Candidates must have hands‑on, design-level expertise with both protocols — including redistribution strategies, route filtering, path control, convergence behavior, failure scenarios, and optimizing multi‑area/multi‑peer topologies. If OSPF/BGP are not your strongest skills, this role will not be a match.
What You’ll Do
Serve as Tier 3 escalation for complex routing/switching and data center issues
Interpret business requirements and translate them into scalable network designs
Develop and maintain network standards, roadmaps, and architectural frameworks
Provide technical leadership and consultation during major initiatives and incidents
Evaluate emerging technologies and align them with strategic direction
Support technology selection, scoping, and costing activities
Work closely with server, application, and enterprise architecture teams
Contribute to high-availability, redundancy, and resiliency designs across LAN/WAN
Must-Have Experience
Expert-level OSPF and BGP—design, troubleshooting, optimization, redistribution, multi-area/multi-AS topologies
Cisco LAN/WAN and Data Center routing/switching (Catalyst, Nexus)
Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs
Nice to Have

Meraki (MX, Z4)
Catalyst Center
Bachelor’s degree in IT or 10+ years equivalent experience
8+ years designing and implementing enterprise network solutions
