DURATION: February 9, 2026 – May 8, 2026
REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics
COMPENSATION: $4,000 estimated stipend depending on experience
Affiliations: North Coast Section (NCS), CIF, Bay Area Conference (BAC), Bay Counties League (BCL). Bay Athletics is committed to educating the whole person and fostering lifelong benefits of physical activity.
Job Requirements (Responsibilities)
Assist the Head Coach with 1½ to 2‑hour afternoon practices Monday‑Friday, beginning no earlier than 3 p.m.
Attend all games, which may require availability earlier than 3 p.m.
Attend occasional athletic department meetings and school events as needed.
Have or obtain NFHS coach certification.
Job offers are contingent upon clearing LiveScan fingerprinting and TB risk assessment. Required trainings—first aid/CPR, concussion awareness, heat illness prevention, sudden cardiac arrest in athletes, mandated reporter, anti‑harassment, and bloodborne pathogen prevention—are provided and paid for by the school.
Ideal Candidate (Qualifications)
Strong athletic knowledge and experience in lacrosse; desire to build/maintain a successful program.
Previous coaching at the high‑school and/or college level preferred.
Experience playing at the college level or above preferred.
Professional and positive demeanor when working with colleagues, students, and parents.
Enjoys working with and developing teenagers as student‑athletes and good citizens.
Strives to build teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship as cornerstones of our program.
Resonates with the school’s mission and philosophy, especially regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Has energy to work in a small independent school environment.
Excellent organization, time management, and strong communication skills.
Ability to provide and incorporate constructive feedback to improve student experience and coaching.
Seeks to serve as a role model for young student‑athletes, understanding culturally responsive coaching and social justice dimensions of education.
Dedicates themselves to anti‑bias and equity work.
Commits to innovation, professional growth, and reinvention.
Possesses a valid CA driver’s license and is willing to drive a school van to/from practices and games.
