Clifford Chance US LLP is seeking a full-time Legal Technology Advisor to join our team in Washington, DC. In this pivotal role you will serve as a vital link between law and technology, working closely with cross‑functional teams to understand the needs of our legal professionals and clients. Your expertise will help drive the adoption of innovative technology solutions that enhance the delivery and quality of our legal services, with a particular focus on GenAI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT.

As a Legal Technology Advisor you will have the opportunity to work hands‑on with a wide range of advanced legal technology tools, including Kira, Litera Transact, HighQ, Power BI, Copilot Studio, AI Agents, AI drafting solutions, automation tools, and many others. You will report directly to the Senior Legal Technology Advisor and play a key role in supporting our firm’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence and client centricity.

Key Responsibilities

Develop a deep understanding of the needs of our internal legal teams and external clients, translating these into effective technology solutions.

Build strong relationships with clients, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.

Recommend, configure and support the use of relevant technologies from our existing tech stack, including GenAI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT to drive efficiency and innovation in legal processes.

Advise on the integration of AI and other advanced technologies in legal workflows, such as contract analysis and document automation.

Promote and analyze the usage of our Legal Technology Toolkit by delivering tailored presentations, demonstrations, and matter‑specific configurations.

Contribute to projects that introduce and implement new legal technology tools, ensuring they align with business needs and strategic priorities.

Collaborate with Product Management teams to provide feedback and guidance on new solutions, ensuring they meet the needs of our lawyers and enhance client experiences.

Balance immediate client needs with the firm’s strategic objectives, identifying opportunities to leverage existing and emerging solutions.

Support power users of key legal technology tools to expand our delivery capabilities.

Gather and share feedback from attorneys and business professionals across our global Legal Technology team throughout the product lifecycle.

Stay current on the latest legal technology trends, particularly in GenAI, through continuous learning, networking and research, and identify opportunities for adoption within the firm.

Promote the use of training materials and provide feedback for ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years’ experience implementing and supporting advanced legal technologies, ideally within Global Financial Markets practice areas at a global law firm preferred.

Demonstrated proficiency in recommending and supporting GenAI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT in a legal or professional services environment.

Bachelor’s degree preferred (minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required).

Prior experience introducing legal technology solutions in professional services firms is preferred.

Strong understanding of the legal technology landscape and its application in a global law firm environment.

Ability to challenge the status quo and propose innovative technology solutions.

Sound judgment in evaluating legal technology solutions for their value and alignment with strategic goals.

Proven ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including legal professionals and IT specialists, and apply strong problem‑solving and entrepreneurial skills to address challenges in legal technology implementation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, delivered with enthusiasm and impact.

Strong relationship‑building skills and an appreciation for diverse approaches to achieving results.

Outstanding time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.

Ability to work outside core business hours as needed.

Willingness to travel to other US offices as needed.

Must be able to adhere to the Firm’s Agile Working Policy which requires employees to work from the office at least three days each calendar week.

Must be independently and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package.

The salary range for this role is $150,000‑$170,000, with actual salary commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
