Job Summary The Fitness Director oversees all fitness operations, delivering professional, high-quality, safe, and innovative health and fitness services to members. As the club’s fitness expert, you shape the overall fitness experience and culture, managing programs, staff development, and revenue generation.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Lead, motivate, and manage the fitness team to achieve or exceed budgeted sales goals.
Conduct weekly sales meetings and provide monthly performance evaluations.
Oversee staff performance, ensuring clear tracking and accountability.
Supervise recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of fitness personnel.
Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
Facilitate ongoing education and certification for fitness staff.
Develop, implement, and evaluate fitness programs that meet member needs.
Regularly review Group Exercise, Personal Training, and TEAM class quality.
Audit group classes for quality, variety, and member satisfaction.
Deliver exceptional customer service via training, incentive programs, and continuous education.
Support Invited’s service standards through comprehensive staff training.
Collaborate with the General Manager on quarterly strategic sales plans.
Meet or exceed quarterly and annual fitness revenue targets.
Maximize sales across all fitness departments and track goals.
Provide weekly performance reports.
Attend continuing education events to stay updated on industry trends.
Validate staff hours, revenues, payroll accuracy.
Lead business development, including profit and loss analysis.
Oversee all fitness-related operations: member services, communications, marketing, purchasing, budgeting, staffing, training, and supervision.
Track all hours, FitStarts, and new clients on the Leaderboard.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
Minimum 3 years in fitness management, including 2 years in a managerial role with budgeting experience.
Minimum 1 year of strategic and operational business planning experience.
Current certifications: ACSM, NASM, ACE, PTA Global, NFPT, ISSA, CSCS, or NSCA.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven success in fitness marketing and sales, driving member engagement.
Experience managing multiple fitness programs simultaneously.
Strong knowledge of program development and execution.
Excellent customer service skills in a club environment.
Skills in engaging members, assessing needs, and fostering participation.
