In this role, you'll help define and deliver the next generation of Pega’s AI, RAG, and knowledge systems, driving AI capabilities that enable our clients to build customer experiences that delight. As a technically-grounded product leader with hands‑on development experience, you'll architect and guide AI platform solutions while serving as the technical bridge between our platform engineering teams, ecosystem partners, and customers. This is an opportunity to engage with senior stakeholders and executive management at a fast‑paced, rapidly growing company.

This role is based out of our Waltham, Massachusetts office (3x a week)

Picture Yourself at Pega In this role you will shape the product that makes AI real for our clients, combining large language models, vector databases, and Pega’s platform to deliver real‑world value for enterprises. You will leverage your deep technical background in software architecture to solve complex challenges in building performant AI systems. You will guide a talented engineering team building differentiated products, enabling us to deliver on the promise of AI for our employees, developers, and customers.

Responsibilities Product Ownership

Leverage your software development and architectural background to oversee and curate a strategy and vision for the ever‑evolving, AI‑driven platform.

Maintain a product backlog of top‑priority work streams that enable Pega to stay current with technological advances and deliver user‑friendly solutions to our client’s complex problems.

Write detailed technical specifications and architectural requirements for engineering teams.

Act as Product Owner in Pega’s agile process: write clear stories in Pega’s Agile Studio, accept story implementation at sprint reviews, and conduct periodic business‑level playbacks to stakeholders to solicit feedback.

Translate complex technical architectures into business value propositions.

Write and evaluate prompts, ensuring we deliver GenAI solutions effectively and minimize the need for clients to have deep LLM knowledge to implement successful solutions.

Work with executive leadership, clients, partners, and analysts to articulate a clear vision for the future of our product.

Competitive Product & Market Analysis

Stay current on competitive market offerings and deliver on differentiation, positioning, and communications.

Research innovative approaches to solving similar problems, remaining current on all related technologies.

Evaluate new and emerging technologies to determine applicability to current and future projects and markets related to AI and RAG solutions.

Assess technical feasibility, scalability, and architectural fit based on your experience.

Initiate formal and informal reviews of ideas and technical objectives, promoting innovation through deep understanding of software design principles and enterprise architecture patterns.

Leadership/Managerial & Product Evangelism

Motivate and inspire the team to achieve outstanding results by providing technical leadership and architectural guidance.

Coach employees to increase levels of competence and performance.

Effectively communicate plans, roadblocks, and successes with colleagues and make recommendations for improvements.

Communicate with senior Pega leadership, customers and partner leadership, discussing complex architectures with both technical and business audiences.

Support product strategy, future direction, and available features to customers, partners, analysts, and internal stakeholders through speaking engagements, webinars, and customer visits.

Qualifications

Hands‑on technologist with significant software development and/or software architecture experience capable of detailed technical discussions.

Skilled at creating product strategy, vision, and roadmap to deliver customer‑driven integration solutions backed by a deep technical understanding.

Experienced in leading technical teams and communicating complex integration challenges.

Strong technologist skilled at adopting leading technologies with hands‑on experience evaluating and implementing enterprise‑scale data engineering solutions.

Innovative thinker able to identify solutions to pervasive customer needs while ensuring technical feasibility and scalability.

Excellent influence skills for key decision‑makers through technical expertise and business acumen.

Proven ability to communicate successfully to internal and external customers, including senior executives.

Demonstrated ability to provide a clear point of view in technical architecture diagrams and system design documentation.

Minimum 15 years’ experience in software development; 10+ years in engineering/product management with a strong technical foundation.

Experience with GenAI, RAG systems, prompt writing, and enterprise‑scale system design.

Experience defining, designing and delivering enterprise‑scale systems, including scalability, performance and integration challenges.

What You Have Accomplished

BA/BS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Minimum 15 years’ experience in software development; Product Analysis, Technical Architect, Technical Project Lead with significant time spent in hands‑on development and/or architecture.

10+ years in Engineering/Product Management with a strong technical foundation.

Experience defining, designing and delivering enterprise‑scale systems.

Compensation Base salary range for this role is $167,600 – $257,600 USD annually. This role may also be eligible for annual bonus or commission, as well as benefits and other incentives. The final compensation will be determined during the offer process based on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as market conditions and may vary from the posted range.

Location Waltham, Massachusetts – office-based with 3 days a week onsite.
