JOB OVERVIEW ___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Sigma Connectivity is seeking an Android Wi‑Fi & AOSP Engineer to enhance and debug Google Cast functionality on Android devices. You will focus on the Wi‑Fi network stack and middleware, ensuring seamless casting experiences. Collaborate with a skilled team on cutting‑edge projects for market‑leading clients in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

Work extensively within the AOSP Wi‑Fi framework, above the driver layer.

Integrate, improve, and debug Google Cast functionality.

Optimize Wi‑Fi connectivity, network QoS, buffering, and channel selection for media streaming.

Troubleshoot Wi‑Fi supplicant issues (authentication, encryption, connection).

Develop and maintain Android middleware components related to Wi‑Fi and casting.

Implement and maintain WPA2/WPA3 security protocols.

Collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver reliable and innovative wireless solutions.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

10+ years

Android development experience with focus on Wi‑Fi stack and middleware.

Hands‑on experience with

AOSP , particularly Wi‑Fi modules.

Strong knowledge of

Android networking APIs .

Proficiency in

C++ ,

Java , and/or

Kotlin .

Familiarity with

Wireshark

or similar network analysis tools.

Experience with casting technologies ( Google Cast ,

AirPlay ,

Miracast ,

WiDi ,

DLNA ) is a plus.

Foundational Wi‑Fi & Android Networking Knowledge

– candidates must understand:

WifiManager class in Android and its role.

wpa_supplicant and its role in Wi‑Fi authentication and connection. Netlink communication between user space and kernel.

Difference between

SSID

and

BSSID .

Wi‑Fi

beacons

and

probes

for network discovery and association.

We offer The annual salary range for this role is $80,000 – $250,000 per year.

The Annual Salary depends upon various job‑related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
