We are looking for a Facilities Manager to support the operations of our facility in San Jose, CA. You will provide support to technical and office staff while working with management to maintain the facilities. You will also be the contact for external contractors, electricians, plumbers, HVAC, and the main contact for the building owner.
You will work onsite at our San Jose, CA office reporting into the Director of Facilities Engineering. You must be able to share the on‑call rotation for Facility employees, including occasional evening, weekend, or holiday hours.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure manufacturing equipment installation requirements such as MEP, HVAC, and lighting controls are present before installation.
Manage preventive maintenance for buildings, labs, and equipment.
Establish new lab, shop, and test capabilities such as power, water, and gas handling services.
Perform root cause evaluation for underperforming critical systems and failed critical components, and track and prioritize resolutions.
Work with project teams to ensure newly installed assets are captured in the Component Content Management System (CMMS).
Coordinate with multiple vendors and negotiate services and products on time and on budget.
Perform CMMS‑planned and unplanned work order management.
Participate as a member of the Safety Committee while supporting the ongoing development of our environmental health and safety efforts.
Procure materials specific to the job.
Support shipping and receiving when needed.
Manage a team of facilities technicians, ensuring facilities tickets are processed in a timely manner.
Develop relationships with building owner’s representatives and local AHJs, serving as the contact with these critical partners.
Qualifications
6+ years’ experience in facilities maintenance.
3+ years’ experience building and managing teams.
Knowledge of health and safety standards and industry codes such as CAL‑OSHA, EPA, DEP, ADA, and other environmental regulations.
Knowledge of building systems such as MEP, HVAC, lighting, controls, and codes.
Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
Ability to read and explain technical and architectural drawings and specifications.
Experience managing, improving, and using a CMMS.
Compensation and Benefits $123,000 - $145,000 USD (base salary)
Actual base salary is determined based on work location, level, qualifications, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training.
