In this role, you will be working closely with developers to help test Maps Navigation Framework on the Maps client. You'll develop test cases around Maps Frameworks and ensure APIs, Protocols, and other framework components meet high-quality standards. You will validate navigation routing, guidance, ETA accuracy, and other service integrations. You will be producing test documents, executing/analyzing, bug triaging, leading testing procedures, leveraging automation, and ensuring the success of new feature development. The ideal candidate must also be an effective advocate with strong communication and organizational skills, as this role requires close partnership with cross-functional engineering and product teams for highly technical discussions. Our ultimate goal is shipping a global map experience to millions of users that is the best in class! Minimum Qualifications
Experience in testing client-server architecture/protocols and APIs, building test plans that include functional, regression, and performance. Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills, with the ability to investigate, debug, and triage difficult problems both independently and cooperatively. Experience in software development methodologies (Agile/Waterfall) and release management. Partner on AI initiatives to integrate intelligent insights — enabling smarter test selection, automated triage, and faster root-cause analysis. Collaborate with Client, Services, and Quality Engineers to identify coverage gaps, define automation requirements, and deliver scalable solutions that improve reliability and signal quality. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Proven experience executing and managing test case results using clear and concise reports. Ability to decompose complex business problems. Aptitude to independently learn new technologies & bring that passion to the organization. BS/MS or relevant work experience required. Experience in API Testing Experience with data exchange formats like JSON, Protobuf Comfort working in command-line environments and using command-line tools. Strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and drive to improve quality at scale. Experience with Maps, Navigation, or GeoServices frameworks, or other large-scale system APIs. Background in framework or SDK-level testing At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $305,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
