Job Title: Systems Engineer Position Summary The Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining the organizations core IT infrastructure with deep expertise in virtualization, Microsoft 365, networking, storage, and security. This role ensures high availability, performance, and protection of enterprise systems while supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term technology initiatives. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Virtualization Design, deploy, and manage virtualized environments using

VMware vSphere

and

Microsoft Hyper-V . Monitor and optimize virtual infrastructure performance, capacity, and resource utilization. Implement high availability, clustering, and disaster recovery solutions. Microsoft 365 / O365 Administration Administer

Microsoft 365

services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, and Azure AD. Lead enterprise O365 deployments, migrations, and tenant configurations. Enforce security, compliance, and identity governance policies across the cloud environment. Server & Systems Management Oversee Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Conduct patch management, upgrades, configuration changes, and system lifecycle tasks. Storage & Backup Administer SAN/NAS storage platforms, ensuring availability, performance tuning, and replication. Implement and maintain enterprise backup solutions, retention policies, and recovery procedures. Network & Firewall Administration Manage and support network infrastructure including switches, routers, WLAN, and VPN solutions. Configure, monitor, and maintain enterprise

firewalls

(e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, SonicWall, Cisco ASA, etc.). Implement and maintain secure network architectures including VLANs, routing, segmentation, and monitoring. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, and cloud environments. Security & Compliance Apply security best practices across systems, networks, and cloud services. Manage identity and access controls, MFA, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening. Respond to security events and support SIEM/log analysis. Projects & Collaboration Lead or support infrastructure upgrades, deployments, cloud migrations, and optimization projects. Collaborate with networking, security, application, and support teams on cross-functional initiatives. Produce and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures. Required Qualifications 37+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure administration. Strong hands-on experience with

VMware vSphere

and/or

Microsoft Hyper-V . Proficiency administering

Microsoft 365 / Azure AD

ecosystems. Experience with enterprise networking and firewall administration. Strong understanding of Active Directory, Windows Server, and core infrastructure services. Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage, backups, and disaster recovery methodologies. Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals.
