and patient focus of a local office Key Responsibilities Clinical Care Excellence:
Deliver thorough hygiene treatment, including prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing, using gentle techniques. Administer local anesthetics and apply cavity-preventive agents like fluorides and sealants as permitted by state law. Patient Advocacy & Education:
Act as a primary educator, counseling patients on proper oral hygiene and nutrition, and helping to manage patient anxiety during treatment. Compliance & Records:
Maintain accurate periodontal charts, medical histories, and treatment records. Securely manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies. Operatory & Inventory Management:
Efficiently manage operatory duties, including room turnover, disinfection, sterilization of instruments, and daily preparation. Maintain hygiene supply inventory and submit orders.
Requirements Licensure:
Must be currently licensed to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the state, meeting all applicable state requirements. Education:
Completion of at least two years of post-secondary education from an accredited dental hygiene program. Experience:
Proven experience in providing prophylaxis and taking X-rays is required. Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent verbal skills and good interpersonal skills to build effective rapport with patients, dentists, and coworkers.
