Gastroenterologist Job Description ATCA is seeking an accomplished Gastroenterologist to join its Medical Advisory Board and support the clinical and strategic expansion of a next-generation treatment model for Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive decline. This role is designed for senior gastroenterologists who understand the emerging science behind the gut–brain axis, microbiome health, systemic inflammation, nutrient absorption, and their influence on cognitive function and neurodegenerative disease. As a Gastroenterologist Advisor, you will help shape how gastrointestinal and metabolic insights are integrated into ATCA’s AI-driven precision medicine approach. You will work closely with ATCA’s executive leadership, neurologists, internists, endocrinologists, and data science teams to refine treatment pathways that incorporate digestive health, microbiome data, and GI-related biomarkers into individualized cognitive care plans.
Responsibilities Include Clinical Strategy & Oversight: Provide expert guidance on gastrointestinal conditions and digestive health factors that may contribute to Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and mild cognitive impairment. Gut–Brain Axis Integration: Advise on incorporating microbiome profiles, GI inflammation markers, nutrient absorption metrics, and digestive health data into individualized treatment protocols. Precision Medicine Integration: Guide how gastrointestinal diagnostics, laboratory results, and longitudinal digestive health data should inform AI-assisted treatment decisions within ATCA’s precision medicine platform. Care Pathway Development: Support the development of multidisciplinary care pathways that align gastroenterology management with neurological, metabolic, endocrine, and primary care interventions. Quality & Outcomes Review: Review aggregated, de-identified patient outcomes to ensure safety, effectiveness, and continuous improvement in gastrointestinal-related aspects of care across clinics. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, technologists, and executive leadership to ensure digestive and metabolic health is addressed within scalable, patient-centered care models. Innovation Support: Provide insight into emerging gastroenterology research, microbiome science, diagnostics, and therapeutic approaches that may enhance ATCA’s clinical offerings and long-term roadmap.
