Position
We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated Sr. Salesforce Platform Architect to lead strategic leadership and technical expertise across the enterprise‑wide Salesforce ecosystem. This hybrid role is based in San Diego or South San Francisco.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Strategy and Architecture
- Define overarching Salesforce platform strategy, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Life Science Cloud.
- Develop architectural blueprints, reference models, and roadmaps aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
- Establish guidelines for scalable data models, integration patterns, and platform usage across business units.
- Evaluate new Salesforce features and releases, recommend adoption strategies that add value.
Solution Design and Governance
- Lead architecture and design sessions translating business needs into high‑quality technical solutions.
- Create and enforce standards for data integrity, object relationships, automation, and security.
- Review and approve solution designs to ensure alignment with platform best practices and governance policies.
- Serve as design authority within the Salesforce Center of Excellence.
Integration and Data Management
- Collaborate with Cloud Operations on integration strategies.
- Lead initiatives for master data management, record deduplication, and structured data governance.
Performance, Security, and Compliance
- Establish security and compliance frameworks consistent with corporate standards and regulatory expectations (HIPAA, GDPR, GxP, SOX, etc.).
- Monitor and optimize platform performance, scalability, and storage utilization.
- Develop strategies for environment management, sandbox usage, and efficient deployment processes.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Collaborate with architects, developers, product managers, and administrators to ensure solution consistency.
- Provide coaching and technical mentoring on best practices and design patterns.
- Communicate architectural decisions and platform roadmaps to stakeholders.
- Support project estimation, technical risk assessment, and resource planning.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience with Salesforce architecture, development, or solution design.
- Expert understanding of Salesforce object model design, data management, and security architecture.
- Proven track record implementing complex, multi‑cloud Salesforce solutions in large or regulated enterprises.
- Strong command of integration techniques and technologies (REST/SOAP APIs, asynchronous processing, middleware orchestration).
- Experience with Salesforce DevOps tools and methodologies, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
- Active Salesforce certifications such as Application Architect, System Architect, or Certified Technical Architect preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in regulated industries (life sciences, healthcare, financial services) with validation and audit trail requirements.
- Strong leadership and influence on architecture decisions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Proactive mindset emphasizing scalability, maintainability, and long‑term governance.
- Experience with large digital transformations.
Location and Compensation
San Diego office – Salary range: $161,000 – $173,000.
South San Francisco office – Salary range: $178,000 – $196,000.
Total package may include discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units. Base pay is part of the compensation.
