Client Technology - Architecture - Lead Software & AI Architect at EY
A senior role focused on delivering scalable, cloud‑native and agentic AI solutions that support EY’s global product portfolio. The Lead Architect will own end‑to‑end design, governance, and delivery of complex, distributed systems in a multi‑disciplinary environment.
The Opportunity
As part of EY Client Technology’s Engineering Architecture Practice, the Lead Architect will define and deliver architectures for business‑critical products and platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, observability and adherence to EY strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships across the business to understand requirements and help shape product roadmaps, including agentic AI solutions.
- Translate business strategy into architecture blueprints, incorporating modern distributed systems patterns, microservices, agent orchestration, and cloud‑native design.
- Own the technology landscape from solutioning to adoption, with deep expertise in distributed systems, containerization, orchestration, agent frameworks, security patterns, and AI guardrails.
- Design and implement enterprise‑scale distributed and agentic AI solutions using REST/GraphQL, IPC protocols (MCP, A2A), Kubernetes, event‑driven architectures, OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect, NeMo Guardrails, and Guardrails AI.
- Lead engineering teams on portfolios, set technology direction, and act as the glue between Engineering, Product Management, AI Safety, and Operations.
- Solve complex problems by ideating new system approaches, conducting feasibility assessments, evaluating vendors, building proofs of concept, and presenting options to business stakeholders.
- Work with cross‑disciplinary teams—engineers, AI engineers, prompt engineers, data scientists, infosec—to deliver compliant, secure, and governed solutions aligned with OWASP GenAI Top 10.
- Create reusable assets (APIs, containers, agent templates, tooling libraries) for enterprise reuse.
- Support product and project managers with forecasting, cost estimation, and resource planning for new platforms.
- Coach and mentor development teams on architecture standards, quality, security, AI safety, and code/review processes.
- Provide technical leadership that aligns business and engineering, mediating conflicts and building consensus.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to business and engineering stakeholders and maintain industry awareness of emerging AI, agent, and distributed system trends.
