Faculty Position in Ophthalmology at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor Level - Anterior Surgery and Uveitis Faculty

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking applicants to fill a full-time faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.

Responsibilities

The candidate will provide clinical services in anterior segment surgery and will be responsible for maintaining a surgical anterior segment ophthalmology practice and supporting clinical call at one or more of our multiple UCSF clinical locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

  • San Francisco Veterans Affairs Hospital

  • Berkeley Outpatient Clinic
  • Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland
  • Oakland VA Clinic

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent degree
  • CA license or eligibility for full, unrestricted licensure by time of hire
  • Board certified or board eligible in Ophthalmology (ABO)
  • Subspecialty fellowship training in cornea/anterior segment surgery with experience caring for adult and pediatric patients at the time of appointment
  • Training in uveitis is desirable but not required
  • Distinguished record of excellence in clinical care and teaching; experience in clinical or education research is welcome but not required

Salary

Rank and salary commensurate with experience. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is $140,600 - $369,000. The total negotiated salary for this position will include another component at the time of hire. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan ( which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
