About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead all financial operations and serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. This role reports directly to the CEO and will be instrumental in shaping financial strategy, driving growth initiatives, and ensuring compliance across a multi-location retail organization. The CFO will also manage financial operations for four related-party real estate companies and play a critical role in acquisitions and real estate transactions.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, family-oriented environment and understands the unique dynamics and strategies necessary for successful multi‑location retail.

What You Will Do

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives.
  • Provide actionable insights to support store expansion, e‑commerce development, and operational efficiency.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning for 90+ retail locations and four related‑party real estate companies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and deliver recommendations to improve profitability and cash flow.

Cash Flow & Treasury

  • Optimize cash flow and working capital to support operations and growth.
  • Maintain banking relationships and financing strategies.

Real Estate & Transactional Oversight

  • Support real estate transactions, including negotiations, contract development with legal counsel, due diligence, and closing approvals.

Acquisitions & Business Integration

  • Support acquisition processes, including negotiations, financial due diligence, closing, and post‑acquisition integration.
  • Review and approve business contracts to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.

Accounting & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee audits and maintain robust internal controls.

Risk Management & Governance

  • Implement enterprise risk frameworks to identify and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks.
  • Champion insurance programs and business continuity planning.
  • Collaborate with IT on cybersecurity and data protection initiatives.
  • Monitor vendor credit exposure and conduct scenario planning for market volatility.
  • Negotiation and business contract review.

Retail‑Specific Focus

  • Collaborate with merchandising, supply chain, and store operations to manage inventory and cost controls.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high‑performing finance team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA required.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in multi‑unit retail or similar environments.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and ERP systems.
  • Exceptional business acumen.
  • Experience with real estate transactions, acquisitions, and contract review.
  • Experience with insurance and business continuation planning.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
