We're seeking talented Robot Systems Engineers to join our team in Santa Clara, CA (on-site). You'll be the technical bridge between hardware, software, and AI—ensuring seamless integration and validation of our robotic platforms from early prototypes to production systems deployed in the real world.
What You'll Do
System Integration & Architecture
Define and document system architectures spanning mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software domains
Drive system-level integration for new robot platforms, ensuring smooth functionality across sensors, actuators, compute, and communication subsystems
Design and develop early prototypes to de-risk new technologies and validate system concepts
Software & Control Systems
Develop software systems to control and test robot platforms at the system level
Build custom test frameworks and automation tools for validation and debugging
Create data visualization and diagnostic tools to monitor system performance
Testing, Validation & Deployment
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate motion, sensing, control, and manipulation capabilities
Commission and operate robotic systems from initial bring-up through production deployment
Own overall functional and performance readiness throughout the full product lifecycle
Problem Solving & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Lead root cause analysis for complex issues spanning hardware, firmware, and software
Triage and debug system interactions during design, launch, and deployment phases
Work closely with mechanical, electrical, perception, controls, and AI teams to deliver integrated solutions
Required Qualifications
BS in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field with 5+ years of industrial experience; OR MS with 3+ years
3+ years of hands-on industrial experience with robotic system integration, commissioning, and validation
Strong proficiency in C++ and Python for system-level programming, automation, and data analysis
Deep understanding of robotic system architecture including compute, sensing, actuation, and control
Hands-on experience with communication protocols (CAN, EtherCAT, Ethernet, serial interfaces)
Proficient with Linux-based systems and embedded systems debugging
Experience with hardware bring-up and validating electromechanical systems
Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills across technical disciplines
