About the Opportunity Our client, a respected nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community programs and workforce development, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the organization's financial integrity-supporting grants, contracts, and program reporting while ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. Key Responsibilities: Senior Accountant Perform full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Prepare monthly financial statements, budget-to-actual reports, and grant tracking schedules. Support program managers with financial insights to aid in budgeting and project planning. Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards. Assist with annual audit preparation and liaise with auditors as needed. Maintain documentation for grant expenditures and funding sources. Streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency and transparency.
Qualifications of the Role: Senior Accountant Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Minimum 3-4 years of nonprofit accounting experience, including multi-grant or multi-program environments. Strong working knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and composure. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with accounting software and Excel; experience with nonprofit financial systems preferred.
