Job Summary Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, IT Programs, the

Project Manager, Application Development

is responsible for managing multiple department‑based and firm‑wide projects involving project plans, communications, resource coordination, stakeholder relationship management, and deliverables. Monitors projects and teams to ensure goals, objectives, and timelines are being met. Tracks and communicates project status, manages risks, and resolves issues as they arise. Maintains standards and monitors scope and project quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Initiation and Planning

Define the project charter and identify key stakeholders.

Collaborate with subject‑matter experts, technical leads, and business analysts to collect and document requirements.

Manage project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Create work breakdown structures (WBS), define tasks, identify required resources, and develop and manage project schedules.

Determine stakeholder communication needs and develop communication plans and processes to ensure those needs are met.

Project Execution and Team Coordination

Support and coordinate project team members, including internal staff and external vendors.

Coordinate cross‑functional activities across multiple application development teams to ensure alignment of timelines, deliverables, and dependencies.

Identify, track, and communicate dependencies across multiple development teams.

Facilitate communication between stakeholders.

Track project deliverables.

Track vendor deliverables and timelines to ensure alignment with internal schedules.

Manage project budgets, vendor contracts, and procurement in alignment with financial goals.

Ensure issues, risks, and blockers are surfaced and addressed promptly.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Governance

Monitor and report on project progress and status in a timely manner.

Present reports on progress to stakeholders.

Conduct risk management activities, including preparing risk management plans, performing risk assessments, reporting identified risks, and recommending mitigation strategies.

Track project risks, follow up with teams, and ensure mitigation plans are defined and implemented.

Perform integrated change control to review all change requests, approve changes, manage changes to deliverables, organizational process assets, project documents, and the project management plan.

Ensure required project artifacts are created and stored according to organizational standards.

Ensure project teams adhere to internal SDLC processes for both Agile and Waterfall projects.

Release Management and Testing Coordination

Coordinate testing activities, including collaboration with QA, technical leads, and business users, and support planning and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT).

Ensure business stakeholders are informed of release timing and impacts.

Track post‑release defects and follow up with technical leads to ensure timely resolution.

Facilitate lessons‑learned or retrospective sessions.

Other Responsibilities

Perform tasks as required by management or supervisory staff.

Provide project implementation support after hours or on weekends as required.

Qualifications

2‑6+ years of experience managing multiple small to medium projects within an application development environment.

Experience with project management practices described in PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).

Excellent MS Office (M365) skills, including Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and MS Project or similar tools.

Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred; CAPM or willingness to obtain is acceptable.

Experience in risk management and/or change management.

Soft Skills

Detail‑oriented with strong organizational, analytical, communication, negotiation, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to plan and take initiative to accomplish objectives in a timely fashion.

Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, project team members, supervisors, and employees across departments.

Adept at conflict resolution.

Education B.A. in Business Management, Information Technology, Financial Management or similar relevant field; Masters preferred.

Language Skills Speak, read, write and understand English.

Reasoning Ability High

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Project Management certification desirable.
