Base pay range $150,000.00/yr — $225,000.00/yr
Job Description We are looking for a Computer Scientist/Predictive Analytics Engineer to employ mathematics, statistics, information science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, network science, probability modeling, data mining, data engineering, data warehousing, data compression, data protection, and related scientific techniques to correlate complex, technical findings into graphical, written, visual, and verbal narrative products on trends of existing intelligence data to leverage other IC data sources.
Responsibilities include developing and utilizing machine learning and data mining algorithms, including, but not limited to, Multiple Information Model Synthesis Architecture (MIMOSA) prediction algorithms based on open‑source capabilities; integrating or coding algorithms to support Government intelligence search and discovery missions; making best‑practice recommendations on managing data within hardware, software, storage, and bandwidth constraints; employing data science techniques to support predictive analysis, social media and crowd‑source data analytics, wargaming, and strategy development; and preparing products that document findings and activities.
Work locations vary throughout the National Capital Region (NCR), with Reston, VA and Washington, DC being primary locations.
Responsibilities include:
Review and evaluate quality assurance documentation submitted by Advanced Analytic (AA) owners to ensure compliance with tradecraft standards and best practices in AI system development and deployment.
Assess quality assurance documentation for completeness, accuracy, and thoroughness, and provide detailed feedback to AA owners and developers.
Assist in maintaining a repository of quality assurance documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices across the organization.
Provide consultation and guidance to AA owners, developers, and stakeholders on the quality assurance process, including best practices for AI system development, testing, and deployment.
Collaborate with AA owners and developers to identify and address potential issues or gaps in quality assurance documentation.
Develop and deliver training materials and workshops to educate AA owners, developers, and stakeholders on the quality assurance process and its application in AI system development.
Assist analytic methodologists and AA owners in translating technical documentation into analytic tradecraft‑compliant language.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, implement, and refine best practices for translating technical documentation into tradecraft‑compliant language.
Review and edit translated documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to tradecraft standards.
Support capability development by contributing, editing, and storing code in Government owned/controlled source version control repositories.
Here's what you need:
Master’s degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and 12+ years of related experience (with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years) OR a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and 17+ years of related experience (with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years).
Mastery of qualitative and quantitative analytic methodologies and ongoing development in academia or related fields that influence tradecraft methodology.
Ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high‑level tasks.
In‑depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra‑IC boundaries, with clear articulation of key findings.
Ability to work independently and with minimal oversight.
Ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely testing analytical rigor of analytic products.
Bonus points if you have:
Master’s degree and 20+ years of related experience (with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years).
Demonstrated ability to define problems, supervise studies, and lead surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
