Peoplework LLC is looking for a highly motivated

Laboratory Operations Scientist

to join our client’s team! The primary role will be to ensure smooth functioning of the Assay Development lab, and to implement policies, procedures, and practices to improve efficiency and performance. You will also work cross-functionally to execute assay development experiments and engineering integration activities, including verification and validation studies, reagent preparation, as well as data analysis and report writing. This position reports to the VP of Research and Development.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Own laboratory logistics and operations, including inventory management, receiving, inspections, and overall lab efficiency (support SR1 and both lab trailers)

Order materials and manage inventory and lab equipment to ensure smooth operations

Prepare, revise, and maintain SOPs for laboratory processes and instruments

Participate in QA/QC activities, including inventory, lot release, and documentation

Execute assay development experiments as directed for integration with engineering teams

Assist with test plan development and experimental execution

Attend cross-functional meetings to share results and updates

Maintain clear documentation; sample technical or scientific report writing requested during interviews

Experience

BS

or

MS

in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related discipline

1+

years technical experience in an industry biotech or laboratory setting; experience in a regulated environment preferred (Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Diagnostics)

Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures

Expertise in basic laboratory techniques

Hands‑on experience in assay development

High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Experience working within a quality system; familiarity with quality management software preferred

Specific experience in systems integration and verification & validation studies highly desirable

Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence preferred

Technical Responsibilities

Assist Associate Scientists with experiment setup and execution

Support QC activities, including inventory management, documentation, and lot release procedures

Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure timely resolution

Write and review documentation, including work instructions, test reports, SOPs, and product specifications

Support assay development integration with engineering, reagent prep, and experimental planning

Maintain lab equipment, supplies, and safety standards, including PPE compliance
