Overview The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health is seeking several faculty members (open rank) to complement our strengths and enhance our research mission in computational psychiatry.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists in areas such as psychosis, suicide, trauma, depression, addiction, and anxiety.

Develop and conduct research using statistical and computational approaches to improve understanding of mental health conditions, diagnosis tools, knowledge of diseases, and treatment effectiveness.

Lead or substantially contribute to education and research programs concerning computational psychiatry.

Contribute to training, research, and other scholarly pursuits.

Possibly engage in quality improvement and evaluation projects.

Qualifications

Strong record of external research funding or evidence of strong interest and capability to pursue extramural funding.

Expertise in developing, leading, or substantially contributing to computational psychiatry research.

Clinical or mechanistically oriented background whose research focuses on statistical or computational methods across one or more of the areas outlined.

Relevant terminal degree (MD, PhD, or other) in a related field.

Current federal funding and research experience suggesting capability to attain consistent extramural funding is required.

Faculty Defined

Clinical Faculty (regardless of rank) – Titles: assistant professor‑clinical, associate professor‑clinical, professor‑clinical. Duties: delivery of exemplary clinical care, teaching, and/or research. Not eligible for tenure; appointed for 3‑5 year terms; may be reappointed.

Tenure‑Track Faculty (regardless of rank) – Titles: assistant professor, associate professor, professor, or tenure‑track. Duties: research, service, and teaching; may involve clinical care if MD or MD/PhD. Eligible for or hold tenure.

Research Faculty (regardless of rank) – Titles: research assistant professor, research associate professor, research professor. Duties: principal focus on research; not eligible for tenure; appointed for 1‑5 year terms.

Work Location Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State University Columbus campus is near the center of a rapidly growing and diverse metropolitan area with a population of over 1.5 million.
