Now is the perfect time to come join our outstanding Emergency Department team in our brand-new Verstandig Pavilion.
MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's Emergency Department is staffed and equipped to care for over 40,000 patients a year ranging from newborn to end of life. The metropolitan MGUH ED provides high quality care to a wide variety of patients, including adult and pediatric patients from the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute and the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Additionally, MedStar Georgetown is accredited by the Joint Commission as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and receives acute stroke patients from all around the DC region. All the nurses in the Emergency Department are certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and are NIH Stroke Certified and many also have their CEN, TNCC, and ENPC certifications. ED Nursing Leadership supports and encourages nurses to enhance their educational expertise and professional development. MedStar Georgetown's Emergency Department prides itself on its teamwork, collaborative governance and decision making which creates and implements new ideas centered on evidence based practice.
State-of-the-Art Facilities: The Verstandig Pavilion is equipped with all-private inpatient rooms and the latest medical technology, ensuring an optimal environment for both patients and healthcare professionals.
Modernized Emergency Department: Our newly expanded and modernized ED includes a fast-track area, separate ambulance entrance, and private treatment/exam rooms, facilitating efficient and high-quality patient care.
Rooftop Helipad: Direct access to our ICUs and ED via a rooftop helipad, allowing for swift and seamless patient transfers.
Schedule
Full-time and Per Diem (PRN) positions available
Self-scheduling; Six Week Schedules
Fixed Shifts (Day/Night/Mid Shifts based on availability)
Key Responsibilities As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.

Qualifications
ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
At least one year of hospital-based RN experience required.
Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
This position has a hiring range of $38.00 - $63.30
