AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Coral Gables on January 15-16, 2026. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026.
The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.
On Friday, interviews will take place at our Coral Gables office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.
AECOM’s Transportation Business Line is seeking an
Entry‑Level Roadway Design Engineer
to be based in
Coral Gables
or
Fort Lauderdale FL . The successful candidate will support the highway design teams in South Florida by working with different disciplines to complete a variety of projects. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with a variety of exciting, challenging projects locally and worldwide.
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of transportation projects for a variety of clients.
Assist with discrete work tasks required in preparation of roadway design set of plans.
Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Carry out engineering analyses and prepare reports and technical specifications under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Work collaboratively within project teams to ensure project objectives are met within the defined scope, schedule, and budget.
Collect and analyze data, perform field work, and undertake site inspections under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Attend site visits and meetings in clients’ offices.
Maintain project records and files, contribute to the preparation of progress reports, and communicate project and task updates to team members and supervisors as needed.
Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior‑level member.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Transportation related experience preferred.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Demonstrate growth potential as well as a desire to learn.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Proficient in AutoCAD, ORD, Civil 3D, or other engineering software packages.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Detail‑oriented while still being able to understand and comply with the big picture and goals of a project.
Documents time and effort accurately.
Interest in transportation infrastructure design.

This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Coral Gables, FL. The selected candidate must be available to work in Coral Gables, FL on a scheduled basis.
