About the Role The Regional Director of Sales is responsible for achieving sales targets for the region and managing the deployment of commercial resources to effectively build and support Vivistim Paired VNS Therapy for stroke patients with upper limb deficiency. This role involves leading and mentoring Territory Managers and Therapy Development Specialists through coaching, developing strategy, and creating solutions to optimize performance and growth of the regional sales organization. Responsibilities include overseeing new business opportunities, recruiting and hiring top talent, generating and fostering client relationships, managing patient outcomes and satisfaction, and ensuring sales exceed forecasts across the U.S.
What You'll Do Strategic Initiatives
Translate corporate objectives into strategic business plans for the region.
Strategize and implement operational and structural changes with VP’s and SVP, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Refine, develop, and execute a Go‑To‑Market plan for launching Vivistim Paired VNS Therapy, building an ecosystem of rehab centers, implanting hospitals, key stakeholders, multidisciplinary teams, and HCPs for easy access and adoption.
Build scalable infrastructure for growing the Vivistim Paired VNS Therapy Program in collaboration with VP’s and SVP.
Continuously refine sales training, mentoring, and onboarding programs.
Identify and develop relationships with local KOLs, both physicians and therapists.
Participate in product life cycle processes (clinical trials, upstream marketing for new product development, indications, GRASP post‑market registry and programs).
Tactical Execution
Play integral role in identifying and hiring a sales and therapy support team with the requisite skills and attributes.
Institute a dynamic, growth‑oriented, performance‑based culture for the region.
Manage business planning and reporting, developing key performance indicators and thresholds.
Drive a consistent approach to building a funnel of appropriately indicated patients from prevalence and incidence pools for Vivistim programs.
Develop plans to assess, select, develop, and onboard new programs offering Vivistim Paired VNS Therapy within the region.
Refine and implement best practice sharing to achieve projected “patients treated” expectations and goals.
Collaborate with team to ensure ROI on local awareness and educational events, and regional conferences.
Work closely in a collaborative environment with Territory Managers, Therapy Development Specialists, Marketing, Market Access, Sales Operations, and executive leadership to maintain strong external and internal relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
15+ years commercial healthcare MedTech experience
3 years of leadership roles in the industry
Experience with Class III medical devices in a highly clinical environment that involved building programs
Leadership: strong coaching and team development skills; accurate identification of strengths, limitations, and potential; addresses performance issues timely
Talent retention and motivation skills
Change management: guides team toward successful implementation and advocates positive change
Collaboration: invites input, shares ideas, and works cross‑functionally
Passion for improving patient outcomes and care
Highly analytical thinker, able to communicate analytics impact on business
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
Prior experience with CRM database management and data entry (Salesforce, etc.)
Well organized, able to balance competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Independent and cross‑functional project manager
Relationship building and consensus support
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable connecting with potential customers via zoom, phone, or in person
Customer‑oriented mindset; friendly and professional demeanor
Self‑motivated / self‑directed
Track record of success in strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, and sales management
Startup experience preferred; expertise in program building
Travel Requirements Ability to travel domestically (75%) required.
