Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description This position requires proficiency in blood collection techniques, including venipuncture and capillary methods, from patients of all age groups. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, effectively communicating its importance to others. You will also provide orientation and training for patient service technicians. Working under the supervision of the lab supervisor and team lead, you will be involved in pediatric patient care. Responsibilities
- Perform blood collection using venipuncture and capillary techniques from patients of all age groups.
- Conduct pediatric blood collections and handle difficult draws in medical office buildings.
- Communicate the importance of compliance and safety to other employees.
- Provide orientation and training for patient service technicians.
- Work with pediatric patients under supervision.
- Maintain excellent attendance and behavior records.
- Travel across various Medical Office Building labs throughout South Orange County.
- Phlebotomist certification and CPT 1 License.
- Proficiency in venipuncture and neonatal phlebotomy techniques.
- At least six months, preferably one year, of experience in an acute or sub-acute setting.
- Experience with pediatrics and neonatal draws.
- Ability to draw 45-55 patients in an outpatient setting within an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to draw 20-30 patients in an inpatient setting within an 8-hour shift.
- Experience with lab systems such as Cerner.
- Customer service skills.
- High school diploma.
- Hospital experience is a plus.
- Experience in outpatient settings like LabCorp or Quest is preferred.
- Computer savvy.
